Puzzul-amurri

Puzzul-amurri the shipwright king
Sits in his palace of wondrous things
His feet on rugs of tigerskin
Great tapestries of gold upon the walls

“What worry have I
The halls are high
My treasury filled with wonders
Let the rain beat hard
On the great stone walls
And the cedar door forty feet tall.”

Puzzul-amurri the new crowned king
Paces his palace of wondrous things
His wrinkled feet on sodden rugs
Wet tapestries of gold upon the walls

“What worry have I
The palace vaults are high
My treasury filled with wonders
Let the rain run fast
Into the great stone cellar
Under the cedar door forty feet tall”

Puzzul-amurri the forsaken king
Drifts in his palace among sodden things
His cold body wrapped in tigerskin
Great tapestries of gold bob in the hall

What worry had he
The palace walls were thick
His treasury filled with wonders
Let the rain run over
The great stone floors
And the cedar door forty feet tall
