When You and I Were Beautiful

When you and I were beautiful
Love and life were never dull
Golden boy and native guide
Two wrongs making right
Losing the wrong fight

My mattress was our bed
Head to foot, foot to head
Brothers without blood
Sharing dirty downtown views
Together making stories and news

Two laughing musketeers
Back to back the best years
Forever journey over destination
Careless of the time apart
Ever sharing one mind one heart

New Year’s home with my honey
New Year’s with you out making money
I raise a glass of tea to each of us
Too old to care for kisses or wine
Because I am fine if you are fine
