In the morning mist
"A drone!" I thought then I saw

Dragonflies coupling

Tanabata Morning Coffee

Little boy
Is off to preschool
Eyes shining
As we tied his wishes
To the Tanabata tree
In the foyer

His mother
Off in dreamland
Forgot to give us string
To tie his wishes up
So I used a hairclip
I found on the floor

I sit
Back at home
Enjoying a cafe au lait
Made from his leftover milk
The exquisite taste
Of my wishes come true
