Haiku of today

Cold fall day of work
Soul kept alive by one thing
Rainbow on the lake

Caravan of Stones

Senor Triunfo
As you say
We come carrying stones
From our homes in the South
To yours in the North

These stones
Lie heavy in our hearts
Raped, murdered, tortured
Starvation, dead children
These memories are our stones

We would throw them
If we could
But they stay with us
Each and every step
From South to North

Senor Triunfo
You throw stones
From your golden throne
Behind your walls
Behind your armies

When this Caravan of Stones
Reaches your Land of the Free
We only hope
It will be free of you
And as open to us
As to your grandparents
When they carried their stones
Of greed and hatred
And planted them
In American soil
